Conservative 15,917 votes (40.8%)
Labour 9,913 votes (25.4%)
Liberal Democrat 7,579 votes (19.4%)
Brian Binley was elected as the MP for Northampton South

Conservative 13,735 votes (34.1%)
Labour 11,799 votes (29.3%)
Liberal Democrat 11,250 votes (27.9%)
Michael Ellis was elected as the MP for Northampton North
South Northamptonshire
Conservative 33,081 votes (55.2%)
Liberal Democrat 12,603 votes (21.0%)
Labour 10,380 votes (17.3%)
Andrea Leadsom was elected as the MP for South Northamptonshire
The previous General Election was held on 5th May 2005 when there were only 2 Parliamentary constituencies in Northampton - Northampton South and Northampton North.

Conservative 23,818 votes (43.7%)
Labour 19,399 votes (35.6%)
Liberal Democrat 8,327 votes (15.3%)
Brian Binley was elected as the MP for Northampton South
Northampton North
Labour 16,905 votes (40.2%)
Conservative 12,945 votes (30.8%)
Liberal Democrat 10,317 votes (24.5%)
Labour held the seat but Conservatives halved their majority.
