The Guildhall

The Guildhall in Northampton was designed by Edward William Godwin and built between 1861 and 1864 in neo-gothic style.

The building is the official seat for Northampton Borough Council and is used on Civic occasions such as the annual Mayor-making Ceremony when the new Mayor of Northampton takes office.

The Guildhall's west wing was extended in 1889 - 1892 by Jefrrey and Matthew Henry Holding. In 1992, The Guildhall was extended again. Rooms within The Guildhall are named after the architects - Godwin, Jeffrey and Holding.
