Northants County Cricket

Northamptonshire County Cricket Club was founded in 1878 and made their first class debut against Hampshire in 1905.

As well as victories in the Natwest Cup in 1976 and 1992, there was Championship success in the 2nd Division in 2000. More recently, Northants finished 3rd in the one-day league in 2000, followed up with a 2nd place behind Essex in the league the following year.

Over the years Northamptonshire has had some notable cricketing stars such as Colin Milburn, Allan Lamb, Curtly Ambrose and Anil Kumble. More recently, Lance Klusener and Monty Panesar have been notable players.
