+++ THIS APPEAL HAS NOW CLOSED. SEE BELOW. +++
Northampton Conservatives are taking part in 'Surprise Supplies' - a scheme which aims to send Christmas parcels to every single member of the Armed Forces currently serving in operations in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Over 14,000 soldiers will be serving out there over Christmas and a lot of them receive little in the way of support parcels from home. Northampton Conservatives will be collating parcels and sending them as a way of acknowledging all the soldiers do on behalf of our country.
Northampton Conservatives would like people to put together parcels to a value of not more than £10 in a padded envelope.
Items which can be sent include (but are not limited to):
Food to perk up basic rations (anything in a tube, tin or vacuum pack) Biscuits and cakes (long life such as fruit cake, gingerbread or malt loaf) Sweets/Mints/Chewing Gum (anything that wont melt!) Magazines and Soduko/puzzle books Lip salve, moisturiser, medicated talc etc. Socks
Either pack a parcel together or bring in some of the items suggested above and we will pack any loose items together.
One of the main elements of this scheme is to provide a bit of variety so feel free to use your imagination.
Please take any parcels by Tuesday 4th December 2007 to your nearest Conservative office: (please telephone beforehand to check opening times)
